Reencle was struggling to stand out in the home composting category: differentiating themselves from competitors, simply and effectively explaining their technology and value proposition, and clearly positioning themselves in the market, demonstrating their sustainability mission.

Through our research process, MBA uncovered that while most brands were leaning into landfill stats and kitchen waste, appealing to gardeners of all types was an untapped space that aligned perfectly with Reencle’s “true” compost product as well as sustainability mission. We shifted the conversation from the product (the composter) to the end-product (the compost) to exemplify why Reencle was the best option on the market.

Our team developed a down to earth, youthful persona, playful taglines, and a clear visual brand identity that highlighted the idea that dirt isn’t a dirty word. Earthy tones and textures, like a gardener’s fingerprint, along with illustrations, icons, and photography put gardeners and compost at the forefront. This position immediately set Reencle apart in the industry, and showed consumers that if they’re looking for real compost, Reencle was the only option.
